Arctic mining company announces the results of exploration works on the Beenchimee licensed area.
The project for prospecting and evaluation work on the subsoil area Beenchimee was completed at 1H of 2017 and a positive expert report was received. During the field work period, in the Northern part of the license area, search routes were conducted with concentrating and small-volume testing.
According to the results of search routes with concentrate testing, lithologic-facies mapping of bed sediments of the Beenchimee river was carried out and areas favorable for increased concentrations of diamonds were identified. During the selection and washing of 14 small-volume samples, 152 diamonds with a total weight of 4504 mg were extracted in 13 samples. For individual samples, the diamond content level reached 2.42 ct/c.m., which was 2.5 times higher than the maximum values for the work of predecessors. The average diamond content was 1.11 ct/ c.m. According to typomorphic features, crystals are distinguished by increased weight and high concentrations of jem-quality diamonds of the Ural type, but, as for all Northern placers, the presence of stones of the Ebelyakh type is typical.
