MINERAL RESOURCES

The ALMAR mineral resource base as of the end of 2022 consists of two licensed subsurface areas – Beenchime and Khatystakh, located in the north-west of Yakutia in the Leno-Anabar diamond-bearing subprovince on the territory of Oleneksky and Bulunsky uluses (districts). The plots are located in the immediate vicinity of the Lena River (Khatystakhsky section) and on the winter road to the Anabar River (Beenchime section). The subsurface user of the plots is a subsidiary of PJSC ALMAR – LLC AGK.

MINERAL RESOURCES

The Khatystakh placer has a sustained high diamond content of rocks. The projected placer resources, according to the company’s estimates, for open–pit mining to a depth of 20 meters is 19 million carats at a low average cost – about $ 25-30 per carat. At the same time, a high diamond content is noted – about 4 carats per cubic meter of sand, the average depth of occurrence is about 2 meters.  The productive reservoir steeply sinks to the west at an angle of 30 degrees, the exploration potential for underground mining to a depth of 20-100 meters is about 100 million carats.

The Beenchime placer has a significantly lower productivity of sands – about 0.3 carats per cubic meter, which is compensated by the large size of diamonds and a higher average market value – about $ 100 per carat. The placer is also characterized by a shallow depth of diamonds – an average of 0.5 meters. The reserves and forecast resources of the placer are estimated by the company at about 2 million carats.

The search goals of both sites, confirmed by an independent assessment of the results of exploration under the JORC code at the end of 2022, exceeded 8 million carats.

Summary of the report

ALMAR plans to develop its mineral resource base through the discovery and development of new small and medium placer deposits located in the Leno-Anabar diamond-bearing subprovincion. In the case of the discovery of a large deposit for its joint development, it is expected to attract a strategic partner among large mining companies.

There were opened a number of diamond deposits such as Ebelyakh, Morgogor, Molodo, Talakhtakh, Hara-Mas, Motorchuna, Daldyn, Tiglikit, Haara-Mas and Big Kuonamka at the Lena-Anabar subprovince. During development of the deposits were produced tens of millions carats of rough diamonds of jewelry quality, including large and super-large diamonds and diamonds of rare fancy colors of high purity. Among which the diamond “Creator” weighing 298.48 carats – the third largest diamond mined in Russia, a fancy bright pink diamond 27.85 carats recognized as the most expensive diamond in Russia, a diamond of a rare deep greenish-yellow hue weighing 28.59 carats, found in 2018 and many others. Every year, the deposits of the region produce dozens of rare diamonds of large size over 10.8 carats and super-large size over 50 carats.
